Join us for a week of spiritual renewal and recharging!
This year's Self-Realization Fellowship World Convocation will be online. We are offering a weeklong program of livestreamed classes on Paramahansa Yogananda’s “how-to-live” teachings and meditation techniques, guided group meditations and kirtans (devotional chanting), virtual pilgrimage tours to the ashrams where the great guru lived and communed with God, and more.
Given the extraordinary nature of the times we are living in, we will be offering Convocation free of charge to ensure that all who wish to participate can do so. While the costs associated with hosting Convocation online are not insignificant, we are confident that through the generosity of those SRF members and friends who are able to help there will be sufficient support to make this possible. We welcome and are deeply grateful for all donations, which can be made at the time of registration and during the event.
We look forward to having you join us for this special program.
Below is a complete schedule of classes that is intended to be a guide for planning your Convocation experience. (In addition to the programs listed here, there will also be virtual pilgrimage tours to SRF ashram centers, as well as other special video programs. Details about these will be added later.) If you are unable to participate in an event at the time it takes place, you are welcome to view it later. All events presented during Convocation week will continue to be available for viewing afterwards.
Enjoy a Convocation welcome video from SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda (with subtitles).
The pathways of life are strewn with obstacles that can cause us to stumble or momentarily lose direction. Similarly, on the path toward Self-realization, to walk steadily upon life’s unpredictable journey back to God, the seeker must be able to see, analyze, and use every challenge as a stepping stone for soul unfoldment. This class will focus on how — in this turbulent world with its engrossing challenges of personal relationships, financial difficulties, and societal unrest — we can discover a common denominator of calm, wisdom-guided understanding and positive outlook, to enable us to turn even the most stubborn obstacles into a lighted pathway to spiritual success.

The art and science of Kriya Yoga meditation employs physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual methods to bestow an ever-deepening consciousness of infinite, unconditioned Bliss. Participants in the classes on the Hong-Sau Technique and Aum Technique of Meditation will receive step-by-step instruction in two of the essential techniques of the Kriya Yoga path as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. These classes will show how these two techniques are integrally related to mastery of the technique of Kriya Yoga (taught separately), and will benefit first-time students as well as longtime Kriya practitioners. Using periods of guided meditation experience, you will receive a comprehensive overview of the essentials for creating a successful personal practice, including: physical techniques of relaxation and asana (right meditation posture), using the breath and life force (prana) in the most effective ways, intensifying the heart's devotion and divine yearning to lead the consciousness into ever deeper states of God-communion.
Speaker: Brother Nakulananda
Few skills in life are as valuable as knowing how to scientifically apply the power of the mind. Thought is the greatest influence on our health, material success, emotional well-being, and our spiritual progress. Paramahansa Yogananda said, “When a thought is made dynamic by will force, it can create or rearrange the atoms into the desired pattern according to the mental blueprint you have created.” The person who understands how to control this force becomes the master of his or her destiny. This class will explore in depth the principles for awakening the innate potentials of the mind — enabling our everyday thoughts to more completely express the joyous inner freedom of the soul.

“There is a personal element in the search for God that is more important than mastery over the whole science of Yoga.”
With these words Paramahansa Yogananda emphasized how vital it is for each of us to form a close personal relationship with the Divine. But how do we discover our own inner connection, and become aware of that loving Presence in the moments of our lives? How can we create a deeply devotional, compelling, trusting, and joyous relationship with God as Father, Mother, Friend, Guru, and Divine Beloved? These are the questions that will be discussed and answered in this class.

Join the monks kirtan group for an hour and a half of devotional chanting.
In this material world, it is easy to lose sight of the needs of others. To be truly generous — to give to others without expecting anything in return — is a profoundly beneficial spiritual practice, one that not only brings joy and comfort to the receiver but also to the giver. Generosity lives and thrives in countless physical and mental ways — through the offering of comfort, financial help, prayer, understanding, and forgiveness. In this class we will discuss how we can more closely attune ourselves to the ideas of sharing and selflessness, opening doors to a richer and more harmonious way of life in God.

Young adults are often at a point in life where they find themselves needing to make decisions that will have a major personal impact, and may even affect the entire course of their lives. They are likely grappling with such choices as what educational or career opportunities to pursue, how to choose real friends and form constructive relationships, what short-term and long-term goals are best, and how much of a role spirituality should play in their lives. This class will be a panel discussion led by an SRF monastic and will include some of our SRF young adult members as well. The stories and insights will seek to offer young adults encouraging guidance on how to respond to the many challenges and decisions that confront them in the “school of life” — and how they can personally experience the wisdom-power of right thinking and understanding to chart their future course with intelligence, confidence, and a joyous sense of their own unlimited possibilities.

The guru-disciple relationship is the basis of the spiritual path — guiding us back to God. “When you are steadfast in the principles of the guru-disciple relationship,” Paramahansa Yogananda says, “the spiritual path becomes very easy. You cannot then go astray. No matter how delusion tries to pull you away, the master who has experienced God knows your trouble and will help you to steady yourself on the path again. That is what the guru does for you if you are in tune with him.” As we begin to open ourselves more fully to the Guru’s guidance, we realize that he is with us every step of the way, no matter our outward experiences. This class will focus on how to bring the full measure of this guidance and support into our lives — especially at the times we most need it.
Speaker: Brother Govindananda

When we tap into the principles of healthful living and the healing power of God, we can experience a more natural balance, harmony, and productivity in our lives. Right diet, exercise, and sound living principles are necessary for an all-around healthful life. However, life sometimes finds us beset by physical and emotional health problems that create roadblocks and a feeling of separation from God. This class will highlight the guidance given to us by Paramahansa Yogananda that can bring the richness of both health and healing into every aspect of our lives, giving us a greater trust and well-being in seeking God.
Speaker: Brother Saralananda
How many of us remember the deep inner thrill and enthusiasm we experienced when we first found the SRF teachings: a divine spark ignited and lifted us out of this mundane world, giving us a glimpse of our divine potential. Paramahansa Yogananda tells us, “Perseverance is the whole magic of spiritual success.” How can we constantly reawaken that fire of longing for God that drives us to meditate and deeply seek the Divine, and how can we be ardent about our spiritual efforts, renewing our enthusiasm daily? This class will provide a wide spectrum of personal approaches that can be used to make our path back to God more inspired, motivated, and joyously fulfilling.

Brother Chidananda, president and spiritual head of SRF/YSS, will give a special talk at the close of the 2022 SRF World Convocation. As all who have joined together for this special week look to hold onto the many blessings that come from absorbing hearts and minds in the soul-joy, divine fellowship, and wisdom that flows from Paramahansa Yogananda’s “how-to-live” teachings, Brother Chidananda will speak about the tremendous spiritual strength that enters our lives — and the world — when we attend Convocation, and when each day with sincerity and receptivity we put into practice the universal techniques and principles of the Kriya Yoga path.
Speaker: Brother Chidananda
The 2022 SRF Online World Convocation is open to all. However, the three classes on the Energization, Hong-Sau, and Aum Techniques, and guided meditation with technique review are available only to those who are current or past students of the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons. (Yogoda Satsanga Society of India Lessons students are also welcome, of course.) If you are not a current or past student, we invite you to apply now for the SRF Lessons so that you may participate in the classes on these powerful techniques, which are integral to the science of Kriya Yoga taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.
For residents of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka, please sign up for the Lessons Through Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (the name by which Paramahansa Yogananda's work is known in these locations).
All applications for the SRF Lessons receive our personal attention and we ask for your patience. Because of the large numbers attending this Convocation, if you apply now for the Lessons, your access to the classes on the SRF techniques may be delayed. However, all Convocation events — including the technique classes for Lessons students — will be available here to view for some time after the week of Convocation.
Join others — from all around the world — as we come together to dive deep into Paramahansa Yogananda’s life-transforming teachings and the tangible feeling of Divine Presence — blessings that are the hallmark of Convocation.
Strengthen your ability to meditate more deeply by joining online with thousands of people worldwide as SRF/YSS monastics lead us in practicing this universal science of the soul.
Our monastic teachers will offer talks on Paramahansa Yogananda’s Kriya Yoga teachings, giving his helpful counsel on how to navigate life’s challenges, as they share their own experiences about journeying on the spiritual path.
Your donation will help cover the many expenses of Convocation. We welcome and are deeply grateful for donations, which will help us to spread Paramahansa Yogananda’s uplifting message and teachings to truth seeking souls worldwide.
